EMDAS SEMINAR – Mind the gap: self-change from addiction and the treatment response
We are pleased to invite you to the first seminar of the new edition of the Master EMDAS 2023-2025 that will take place online on March 6th, from 1 to 2 pm CET time. The seminar “Mind the gap: self-change from addiction and the treatment response” will be conducted by Justyna Klingemann, with Professor Franca Beccaria as the discussant.
Justyna Klingemann, a sociologist of health and medicine, is the head of the Department of Health Sociology and Addiction Research at the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology in Warsaw, Poland. She is also the current President of the Kettil Bruun Society for Social and Epidemiological Research on Alcohol. Her research focuses on social and structural determinants of recovery and harm reduction strategies in addiction, as well as treatment system aspects. The seminar promoted in the context of the European Masters in Drug and Alcohol Studies (EMDAS), run by University of Turin and Aarhus University, is organized with the aim of sharing the theoretical knowledge and critical reflections developed within the Master’s program with a broader audience. The seminar is open to students, professors, researchers, social and health workers.
